TERMS OF PAYING DEBT FOR SPENT ELECTRICITY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF “ELEKTRODISTRIBUCIJA NIS”

 In the Hall of Cultural Center Nis (NKC), under the initiative of  Palilula Municipality and member of Council Milos Stojkovic, it is organized the second meeting of the presidents of Citizens` Councils of the Municipality  and the management of ED “Jugoistok-Pogon- Niš”; in order to evaluate the possibility of more favorable settlement of debt for the consumed electricity. Action of exclusion of electricity that is currently made by ED “Jugoistok”  in households that have not settled their obligations, it is worried citizens, particularly vulnerable population of the municipality. On this meeting it was asked from representatives of sale service of ED “Jugoistok” Niš that this company to not to be excluded, but allow the settlement of current debt under conditions that respect the material situation of citizens and the possibility that in these situations may apply. After this discussion and agreement within the system of EPS, director of Elektrodistribucija Nis, Aleksandar Kostic informed President of Palilula Municipality and members of Council on terms of settlement of debts for consumed electric energy.

Elektrodistribucija Nis is considering purchasing opportunities of the citizens of Nis and piled up debts for consumed electric energy, decided that in accordance with its business policy of collection of receivables from customers in the category of “consumer goods”& a group of households from April 2010th will use new measures of charging debts for consumed electric energy, as follows: that is all customers of electricity required to settle their monthly invoice until the date of maturity and that the debtors, regardless of the amount of debt are required to pay their arrears by paying the amount in the amount of monthly invoices without accrued interest or the amount of debt if it is less of the monthly invoice. This means that all customers who have spent electricity debt must to be paid: The amount of consumed electricity in March, April and May, in the same amount of the residual debt and that from the Junes` invoice to continue with paying monthly invoices in the same amount of the residual debt. This way of settling the obligation to Elektrodistribucija Nis, payment of current charges and the same amount for the settlement of remaining debt, furthermore, electricity customers will have a guarantee, that to them will not be delivered warning for suspension of electricity, it wont be suspended delivery of electricity to them and they will not be sued for debt based on consumed electricity.  On this occasion, we inform you, is emphasized in a letter of the Director of Elektrodistribucija Nis, Aleksandar Kostic that E.D. “Jugoisotk” will  to those customers who do not respect the proposed solution to settle the debt for the consumed electric energy, to take all available measures for enforcement of collection of receivables ( suspension of delivery, suing, etc.). and in accordance with the Energy Law and Regulation on the conditions of supply of electricity.”
